A Bespoke Chiller and Freezer Solution
The BFES team recently completed the installation of a bespoke external cold room for Minstead Trust, providing a practical refrigeration and frozen storage solution designed to make the most of the available outdoor space.
The Project
Minstead Trust had an existing outdoor area suitable for a new cold room installation. Our team supplied and installed a dual-compartment unit, combining chilled and frozen storage within one purpose-built structure.
The cold room was designed with a walk-through layout, allowing users to enter the chiller compartment before accessing the freezer. This provides both temperature-controlled storage areas within a single, convenient installation.
Safety was also an important consideration, with a trapped-person alarm incorporated into the installation to provide an additional safeguard for anyone working inside the cold room.
The site team prepared the concrete base ahead of installation, allowing BFES to complete the fitting of the new unit.
To ensure the installation complemented its surroundings, the exterior was colour-matched to the original shed, helping the new structure blend naturally into the existing environment.
The scope of works included:
- Supply and installation of an external dual-compartment cold room
- Walk-through chiller and freezer configuration
- Installation of a trapped-person safety alarm
- Coordination with the site team for the prepared concrete base
- Exterior colour matching to complement the existing surroundings
The Result
