Our latest blog post is a little different to our previous ones. It is an insightful recap of the latest goings on at BFES.
Work we’ve recently undertaken includes the new installation of a rack dishwasher at Magdalen College School in Oxford. Numerous planned service and maintenance contracts across the South Coast from MoD sites, to schools and to bistro restaurants.
We have recently featured in our first ‘Enterprise Solent’ magazine. It focuses on how BFES and our client, The Canteen, have received support from the ‘Solent Growth Fund’, and put emphasis on working together to create one of Portsmouth’s most iconic eateries.

Standing at 170 metres above Portsmouth Harbour and the Solent, the Emirates Spinnaker Tower is the tallest accessible structure in the United Kingdom outside London. Taller than both the London Eye and Blackpool Tower, it’s already established itself as a national icon for Britain.
One of our engineers, Lewis, decided they would take on the feat of abseiling down the Spinnaker Tower to raise money for Ickle Pickles. Ickle Pickles is a charity set up to care for premature, sick and small babies who need intensive care in neonatal units.
The charity turns gifts and donations from generous people into specialised equipment, such as incubators and ventilators to help neonatal units provide incredible levels of care for young babies.
Lewis has raised an enormous £500 so far. With sponsorship running until 5th September, they’re looking to raise as much as possible.
If you’d like to support Lewis and this fantastic charity, head over to his MyDonate page. Lewis and Ickle Pickles really appreciate your help!
We are still on the lookout for experienced gas and refrigeration engineers. If you know of anyone, please do point them in our direction, or get them to contact firstname.lastname@example.org. Similarly, if you have a referral, please feel free to get in touch with us directly and we can reach out to them
Likewise, we will also be launching an ‘Apprenticeship Scheme’ very soon. We’re really keen and excited to start working with some young, hungry local talent. If you’re aged 16+ and interested in kick starting your career in engineering, do get in touch with us.
We are also beginning to upscale our service and maintenance offering. We have upgraded our fleet of vehicle recently with top of the range racking, this has allowed us to increase tailored van stock for our contract customer ensuring that first time fix.
